Film Sound Designer, Re-recording Mixer
and Audio Programmer
Based in Los Angeles
Available for remote work
Shao Hi is a sound designer and audio programmer working between film post-production and audio technology. On picture, he leads and manages a team handling complete audio post for independent films, from dialogue editing and ambience to hard effects, sound effects and Foley, and has mixed more than ten short films in Dolby Atmos.
In code, he builds the tools behind the sound: generative models for cinematic sound assets, Max/MSP and GEN patches, and acoustic modeling software. He also works on audio implementation, with hands-on experience in Wwise, Unreal Engine and Unity.
He came to sound through the bass guitar, and still produces, arranges and plays bass on records.
